How to publish a Google Sheet for a live display
Use Google Sheets' Publish to web setting, copy the correct URL and turn the rows into Sheet2Notice Queue Display, Promo Slides, Video Playlist, Schedule Board, Metric Cards or Notice Board.
In one sentence
Publishing a Google Sheet makes a read-only public version available without signing into Google; Sheet2Notice reads that version to build easy digital signage. Private sheets are not supported.
Publishing is different from sharing
Giving someone 'Anyone with the link' access is not the same as Publish to web. In Google Sheets, open File, Share, Publish to web, select the relevant sheet or entire document, then choose Publish.
Use the normal sheet URL
After publishing, you can paste either the regular docs.google.com spreadsheet URL from the address bar or Google's published link into Sheet2Notice. The builder extracts the spreadsheet identifier safely. Keep the intended tab active so its gid is included.
Check row 1 before generating
Match headers to the template you chose. Header names are case-insensitive, optional cells can be blank and empty rows are skipped. Media and video cells need direct https file URLs — not YouTube or Google Drive share pages.

Step by step
Add the display in 5 steps
- 01
Create one tab per display
Keep everything in one spreadsheet. Name a tab Queue or Notice Board, then add that template's headers to row 1.

Publish the entire spreadsheet
File → Share → Publish to web → Entire document → Publish. Review Published content & settings after adding future tabs.

Copy the active tab URL
Click the tab you want to turn into a display, then copy the normal address-bar URL. Its gid identifies that tab.

Generate your display
Choose the layout, spacing, height, item count, and theme while the preview updates.

Open TV Mode, share, or embed
Open the display link or TV Mode on a wall screen, or paste the embed into your website. Repeat with another tab; widget.js only needs to load once.

What people ask before starting
Is Anyone with the link enough?
No. Use File → Share → Publish to web. Sheet2Notice does not request access to your Google account.
Can I use a private Google Sheet?
No. The source must be published, and it should contain only information intended for public display — queue tokens, lobby metrics, dispatch boards, notices, promo images and public video file URLs. Never patient names, certificates, account numbers or other confidential data.
Which URL should I copy?
The normal spreadsheet address-bar URL works after publishing. Google's published URL also works.
Can I paste a YouTube or Google Drive link in Video / Image?
No. Use a direct https file URL (.jpg, .png, .mp4, .webm, …). YouTube pages and Drive share links will not play.
What happens when I edit the sheet later?
The existing display fetches the latest published rows, usually within about 15 seconds. You do not regenerate the link or embed.
