Why a browser URL beats another player install
Community setups often stall on Raspberry Pi images, proprietary sticks or apps that break after OS updates. If the TV has a browser, you already have a player. Sheet2Notice is the presentation layer; the sheet stays the CMS.

Keep the screen alive all day
Disable sleep / screen saver on the TV or stick where possible. Bookmark TV Mode and reopen after power loss. Watch the “Updated Xs ago” line in the TV chrome — if it stalls for minutes, check Wi-Fi or the published sheet.

Add the display in 4 steps

Generate a display and copy TV Mode
Publish the sheet, create Queue / Metrics / Schedule / Notice in Sheet2Notice, then copy the TV Mode (/tv) link. Bookmark the manage link separately for settings.

Open the TV browser
On Fire TV: Silk / web browser. On Android TV: Chrome or the system browser. On a PC stick: Chrome fullscreen (F11) or a kiosk extension.

Paste TV Mode and go fullscreen
Paste the /tv URL, allow fullscreen if prompted, and leave the screen on. Edit one sheet cell to confirm “Updated Xs ago” advances after the next sync.

Optional: pin and power settings
Add the page to bookmarks or the home row. Turn off screen savers and set the TV to remember the last input so a power blip recovers faster.

What people ask before starting
Do I need a Raspberry Pi or Yodeck player?
No. Any browser-capable Fire TV, Android TV, Smart TV or PC stick works with the TV Mode URL. Dedicated players help large fleets — not a single ops wall.
The Smart TV browser is slow or closes overnight. What then?
Use a cheap Chrome stick or mini PC on HDMI in kiosk mode. Consumer Smart TV browsers vary; a stick is more reliable for always-on walls.
How do I know the screen is still syncing?
TV Mode shows sheet sync age (“Updated 12s ago”) in the header and gear panel. If it stops updating, check network and that the sheet is still published.
Can reception change the queue without touching the TV?
Yes. Edit Token, Counter and Status in the Google Sheet. The wall follows within about 15 seconds — no signage CMS login on the TV.
